GNUTls - Unable to connect

I am unable to stream from a site with an obsolete intermediate certificate, while there is still a valid chain of certificates to the root certificate. Example: https://icecast.streamone.net/crJNGaeQKRQy

When checking the site with ssllabs.com (https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=icecast.streamone.net&hideResults=on), I get the following: The certificate for *.streamone.net has 3 paths for validation. One of them uses an certificate which has expired 30 may 2020. The stream is working when using a browser (Firefox for example).

The issue occures with the latest VLC on Windows10, as well VLC on Android (6 and 9).
