When navigating in the video, video can freeze or sound can be off randomly (after 3.0 update)

Hello team,

I am using VLC Version 3.0.10 Vetinari (Intel 64bit) on my MacBook Pro (Catalina Version 10.15.5).

I have began to notice since yesterday regular issues with regards to video play. Here are the main behaviour I have noted :

when navigating in the video using the bar at the bottom I have occurrences where the video will just freeze. I can press pause and play, nothing will do. I have to force quit the application and open it again.
when navigating in the video using the bar at the bottom the sound will stop. Pausing, playing, advancing will not do anything. Video will still play but the sound is off. Issue is not with the laptop as I hade tried to play sound on other applications when it happened in VLC and that was still working. I want to highlight that this issue has never happened before the 3.0 update. I have also raised the issue in a French forum of Mac users and someone had a similar problem (also in the 3.0 update).
