No Sound after Pausing VLC

Hi, I'm on a macbook pro OS 10.14.3. using VLC version 3.0.10 Vetinari (Intel 64bit).

Since updating to this latest version every time I pause the VLC player and then hit play again there is no sound. When I then try to quit to restart the player it freezes. I have to force quite to get it to close.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
