Streaming HLS .m3u8 causes freezes and crashes

After installing version 3.0.10, I started having hls videos (.m3u8) get stuck while watching.

It was intermittent, and I am not too sure on how stable the connection was, but the .m3u8 hls playlist was working in multiple web-based players for days, while failing in VLC at the same time, getting a complete freeze, occasional skipping. Downgrading to 3.0.8 immediately fixed the issue.
