Problems playing file from network after computer stand-by/resume
To reproduce:
- Place a video on a Windows network share. I used an XVID/mpga .avi file.
- Access the share through its UNC pathname: \server\share. Then, double-click the file to start playing in VLC.
- Skip to the middle of the file with the seek bar.
- Pause the file.
- Suspend the computer.
- When computer goes quiet, resume the computer.
- Wait for resume to re-connect to the wireless network
- Resume playback using the "Play" button in the WX interface.
Several different things have happened to me following the above procedure:
- VLC presents an "Errors" dialog with many "File reading failed: VLC could not read the file." messages. This dialog cannot be dismissed (keeps coming back). Additionally, the "Close" and "Clear" buttons both use "C" as the access key, so holding down "ALT-C" is not effective at rapidly dismissing the dialog. The ESC key and the red "X" on the window are similarly ineffective at getting rid of it.
- If you lean on the ESC key, eventually "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in vlc.exe" message appears. Sometimes this appears immediately on playback attempt.
