Interface frozen when switching to/from dark mode

Switching to/from OSX's dark mode (manually or with automated tools) causes the main window to become unresponsive. Playback can still be controlled with keyboard shortcuts but main window does not come to the foreground again. Also, playback counter seems frozen if window is still visible. Sometimes crashes.

It would also be great if VLC would switch theme based on OSX dark/light theme.
