Memory leak when playing MIDI files

I added a 200MB sized soundfont file in order to play MIDI files. Every time I click on a MIDI file the memory usage of VLC seems to grow by 200MB according to Windows task manager. Even re-clicking the MIDI file in the playlist seems to grow the memory usage by 200MB. I'm using Windows 10 and VLC v3.0.7. The size of the soundfont seems to determine how much the memory leak grows by.
