vlsub cannot download subs

I use xubuntu 18.04 on my lenovo laptop and Vlsub doesn't download subs. When i change the options to download them manually this message is shown to the opensubtitles link:

Incorrect download parameters detected; wrong vrf

It also takes too long searching for the subs, showing me a doesn't respond message, but eventually finds them.
