The VLC interface is gigantic again.
VLC had this problem before. The interface when first opened is so large on my 40 inch led tv the interface is a superwide black and a grey line on top of each other. I'm not sure if it's a dependency of vlc or if some dev was using a super high definition monitor and forgot to set vlc up for a regular one before they turned in the code. It was a problem a year ago then went away but is back again. I had vlc come with MC18 and it was like this so I uninstalled it. Then today 3 months later it is still a problem. It might be wayland or some other dependency. Just remembered the original time it was installed I actually tried to open a video by right clicking on the video and the entire computer froze from 100% cpu usage. OK I have MX Linux 18.1, I have a Dell Inspiron 3650 desktop, with a quad core cpu, and 8 GB's of ram. Another guess it that the vlc package that is in the repository for some reason has the hidpi vlc theme set. That hidpi is terrible for regular users, It makes the interface so big you have to kill vlc using services and then remove and reinstall because you cannot use the menu. I way to overcome this problem is to make it so VLC cannot exceed screen size so it is unfixable. The other thing is to have like a resolution message "If you accept this setting message in a normal size" so people can get out of hidpi. Heck you could also make a separate hidpi vlc download so this doesn't accidentally happen.
