Make a mouse click stop or start the video/audio play

VLC has a start/stop triangle button at the bottom left part of the screen. Also, there is the same functionality somewhere in the menus.

However, there are some (if not many) video players that allow a user to click into the video playing area to stop or start the play. You could do that also. I am strongly missing that simple feature.
