VLC keeps assigning left channel when playing a dual-mono MP3 file

Running Version 3.0.4 Vetinari (Intel 64bit) on macOS El Capitan.

I attached a screenshot. I couldn't record the screen showing VLC automatically changing the audio channel to "Left" when I play a dual-mono MP3 file.

Is there any way to force Stereo?
