VLC 3.0.4 won't play .ogg files on Windows 10 build 18282

Being a Windows Insider, I recently upgraded to the latest available build and have since been unable to play .ogg files with VLC 3.0.4.

I tried other formats (both audio and video) and they worked quite well.

Different things happen :

  • if you play the .ogg file by double-clicking it, VLC opens, lists the track in the playlist and gets stuck
  • if you play the .ogg file by using the Open function of VLC, the track appears in the playlist, the "bouncing" orange loading bar appears and keep going indefinitely
  • closing VLC with a .ogg in the playlist seems to leave a process running in the background that has to be killed via Task Manager (process leave the VLC icon in the system tray)

Logs are provided (starting VLC by double-clicking an .mp4 file, and then double-clicking on a .ogg file)
