Support for TXT format subtitles

I had updated VLC today to version 3.0.4 3.0.4 Vetinari (Intel 64bit) on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), MacOS Mojave 10.14 and for some reason subtitle that I have in TXT format are not working anymore.

Subtitles are not loaded automatically (same filename) and when I try to add subtitle track manually (from top menu).

Subtitles works when I change file extension from TXT to SRT.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
