vlc 3.0 ui scaling issue

I just upgraded from 2.2.6 to 3.0 and the screen is now scaled extra large. Example: http://216.129.119.211/vlc_3.0_size_issue.jpg. Left is 2.2.6; right is 3.0; both at minimum horizontal size.

I believe this is related to the new hidpi fix/feature.

My non-hidpi screen is 1920x1200 @ 144dpi (150%).

Is there a setting to revert to previous scaling methodology? Thnx!
