Chromecast stops randomly

Whenever I play a movie, the connection to Chromecast stops after a while and the playback resumes on the local video renderer. The interval between disconnects seems random, sometimes 10 seconds, sometimes 15 minutes, ...

I'm using:

vlc-3.0.0-20171102-0458
Windows 10 Pro - 64-bit - version 1703 - build 15063.674
Intel Core i5-6500 @ 3.20GHz
8.00GB RAM
Chromecast 2

I've had the problem on different file formats so I assume it's not related to the file format:

.mp4 (h264, aac)
.webm
.aac

I've attached the messages log. The disconnect happened on line 405.
