VLC for android 5.1.1

this seems to be an ongoing issue with vlc for android, but maybe it is normal behavior. When I install a new nightly build, I open: Local Network, I populates my network shares, I choose it and it spins forever without bringing up the authentication window. I always have to close the app and relaunch it, for the authentication window to appear, to enter my Windows user name and password. This is no big deal for me, as I know this from many weeks of nightly downloads, but new users may not.
