VLC crashes when converting DVD to mp4 usng stop-time

When trying to convert a DVD to mp4 using :stop-time VLC crashes when it reaches the stop time.

  1. Operating System: Windows XP SP3

  2. VLC Version: vlc-2.2.5-20170509-0305.1-win32

  3. Hardware: Intel i7, ASUS DRW-24B5ST DVD drive

  4. Logs: Not able to be generated using GUI. I set Log filename -> C:\vlc-log.txt, Log format -> Text, Verbosity -> 2. This might be another bug, but its not the one I'm reporting.

  5. Steps to Reproduce Problem:

Media -> !Convert/Save... -> Disc -> Disc Selection -> DVD, No disc menus; Show more options -> MRL -> dvdsimple:///F:/, Edit Options -> :disc-caching=300 :stop-time=120 -> !Convert/Save -> Settings -> Video - H.264 + MP3 (MP4) -> Edit Selected Profile ->

Encapsulation -> MP4/MOV

Video codec -> Video, Encoding parameters: Codec -> H-264, Bitrate -> Not Used, Quality -> Not Used, -> Frame Rate -> Same as source; Resolution: Scale -> Auto, Width -> Auto, Height -> Auto; Filters: None.

Audio codec -> Audio, Encoding parameters: Codec -> MPEG Audio, Bitrate -> 128 kb/s, Channels -> 2, Sample Rate -> 44100 Hz, Filters: None.

Subtitles -> None.

-> Save -> Destination File -> temp.mp4 -> Start.

  1. Reproducibility: Occurs every time. Tried two different DVDs.

  2. Media Type: Standard DVD.

  3. Complete threaded symbolic stack trace: See attached crashdump file.

  4. Video sample: Any DVD.
