Video and audio of Bink Video (.bik) files are out of sync
Watching .bik files (Bink Video files, commonly used for FMV sequences in games) shows that the video and audio streams are out of sync with one another by a second or so. This appears to be because the audio cuts out for a second after a second or two, then begins from where it left off rather than where it is actually supposed to be in the video.
Some example game files that show this problem (note that these are Steam installations):
(Portal 2: final elevator sequence):
steamapps/common/Portal 2/portal2/media/sp_30_a4_finale.bik
(Psychonauts: Markmanship Badge Get cutscene):
steamapps/common/Psychonauts/WorkResource/Cutscenes/Prerendered/markmanshipbadge.bik
The same bug occurs whether the .bik file is stored on an SSD or an HDD. The bug does not occur within the games themselves.
