open directory does not set autoplay on first item

Tested with vlc-0.9.0-test3-20080725-0004-win32 the Media Open Folder option to populate the playlist or doubleclicking a (for example saved from shoutcast.com) shoutcast.pls will not autoplay the first item. This was the case in 0.8.6

Was this intentionally (I remember some service discovery autoplay issues)? I checked trac and change tickets for keyword autoplay but couldn't find anything recent that might be related.
