DLL version info resources are malformed
In the version info resource of the following DLLs, the \VarFileInfo\Translation
table is malformed:
- axvlc.dll
- libvlc.dll
- libvlccore.dll
The codepage specified in the Translation table is 1200, but the actual codepage used in the string tables is 1252 instead.
This can prevent 3rd party apps from retrieving version fields using the Win32 VerQueryValue()
function unless they resort to using heuristics to find the actual string table resources.
The following DLLs/EXEs are not affected, their Translation tables are accurate:
- npvlc.dll
- vlc-cache-gen.exe
- vlc.exe
