Set network location to read and write the files that stores "recent files" and "resume playback" information

Feature request for the cross platform (including Android/mobile) ability to set a network location for the files that store information for "recent files" and "resume playback".

Idea is, if a film is watched on a Windows computer, the VLC player can be opened on an other computer or mobile device that is on the same network and the movie can be continued from the same spot just by opening it from the recent files and clicking the resume playback.

All this would be possible because all devices are pointed to the same network location that stores the files storing the "recent files" and "resume playback" information.

Of course if the network location is not accessible, the player should fall back to its local files.
