DShow: Capture Card's Internal Audio Device Not Selectable/Recognized
With the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 (and other models, no doubt), they use an internal sound processor for the audio that it captures, it is NOT fed through a sound card. Programs such as BeyondTV, Windows Media Center, and WinTV's own software pick up on this and will play the audio normally when watching TV or Composite In. However, when selecting the audio capture method in VLC 0.8.6x and 0.9.x beta, there is no option to select the capture card as an audio device (only video). Selecting "Default", or "None" does not work, either, resulting in audio-less capture from the card.
What should be added in the Audio Device listing is a way for the user to select the capture card itself as an audio device, as well (if hardware permits), as some cards do not route their audio through the PC's sound card.
Personal note: I love VLC, it's the only player that I can completely eliminate the cache lag with my capture card, allowing me to use game consoles on my computer. The only problem is that there's no audio. If you guys can get this fixed, that would be awesome.
