VLC opens new window named "OpenGL, Direct3D, DirectDraw, etc(depends) Ouput" during blank space in a ceartin .mov file

While playing a ceartin .mov in VLC(see attached), when VLC gets to the point where there is some video blank space, VLC opens a window whose title is: "VLC (output(example: Direct 3D, OpenGL) output). The video still plays in this window, and you can play, pause, skip ahead, etc in this window with the controls in the VLC main window(is that what it's called?).
