VLC process doesnt stop after close button is pressed from gui

I have not been able to isolate how to reproduce this bug every time but in some cases when i have been listening mp3 from a playlist and hit close button from the gui - the gui stop but process keeps on going and audio is still getting played.

Distro: Linux / Fedora8

Kernel: 2.6.23.14-107.fc8

VLC: vlc-0.8.6d-3.lvn8 (Binary package from Livna rpm repository)
