VLC 0.8.6c and VLC 0.9 Daily do not play well with Nvidia TwinView in XVideo output mode

When using VLC with Nvidia Twinview and two screens of different resolution, two problems arise:

  1. Going to fullscreen always goes to the first screen, no matter in which screen the VLC window happens to be running. This is un-intuitive for non-technical users; mplayer/xine/gstreamer maximize to the screen where they are running. VLC workaround is Preferences > Video > Output > XVideo > Screen for fullscreen mode. Not good for the average user.

Request 1: please implement a fullscreen behaviour under twinview like the one in mplayer/xine/gstreamer, by default.

  1. In a two screen scenario where the screens have different resolutions (example: screen 0= 1280x1024; screen 1= TVout = 1024x768). When "Screen for fullscreen Mode" = 1 (my TV out), and I go fullscreen, the TV image doesn't fit the screen, it has terrible clipping to the right and the bottom; VLC is playing the movie on Screen 1, but using Screen 0 resolution. There is a workaround: Preferences > Video > Output > XVideo > Alternate fullscreen mode; again not good for the average user. mplayer/xine/gstreamer work fine by default, with no workarounds.

Request 2: plesae make the Fullscreen mode resolution play well with Nvidia Twinview, by default.

Thanks!!!
