OS X: Opening Video Effects corrupts vlcrc file
This problem affects all 2.1 releases and the upcoming 2.2. I don't recall this happening before with the early 2.1 releases, so maybe it has to do with running OS X 10.9.4 or something else unique to my iMac.
Starting from a clean set of preferences, the first time I open the Video Effects panel it takes about 5 seconds to appear. If I open it the first time while a video is playing, the video stops and the color spinning wheel appears for those 5 seconds. If I'm in full screen, the Video Effects window then opens behind the video so you cannot see it. One time it even somehow spawned a separate video playback window with the same content in it. I do not play video in the main window and do not use native full screen.
Quitting afterward then takes longer than usual and the saved vlcrc file grows from 73 KB to 172.9 MB with corrupted data at lines:
1691 marq-marquee 1969 gradient-mode
Then re-opening and quitting now take a lot longer due to the large vlcrc file.
I'm attaching a zip of the bad vlcrc file and the regular one used just before it corrupts.
This corruption is repeatable. Other similar windows seem to open and close fine.
