VLC on Windows crashes when clicking "Set up associations..." in preferences

Hi,

I am running VLC 2.1.5 64-bit on Windows 7 64-bit. Everytime I click on "Set up associations..." in "Preferences" under "Interface" tab, VLC crashes with the following error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusal way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Is there a chance this could be fixed in the next version? If so, is there a rough expected release date?
