3.0 regression: cannot abort long directory open

Open a very large directory (e.g. /usr) and try to quit. With VLC 2.2 and older, it might take a while (because of attempts to preparse) but it works.

With VLC 3.0, it just gets stuck (presumably until the directory is fully read).
