bad sound when playing some monkey's audio file ( APE file )

I use vlc 2.1.5 with archlinux 64 bits,

I notice a bad sound when I play monkey's audio files ( APE files, a lossless audio compression codec ),

I can hear some slight distortions if the track is a jazz track ( or with classical instruments ),

for example "Dave Brubeck Quartet - Time Out" album, in this album I can hear slight distortion with vlc if the tracks are compressed with monkey's audio codec, if I read these same tracks with mplayer or ffmpeg ( ffplay ) I don't hear distortion,

so there is probably a bug in vlc related to ape files ( monkey's audio file ),

I use also ffmpeg 1:2.3 version
