System goes to sleep when playing audio

I see that ticket #7391 (closed) is closed. It stated "This issue is resolved for VLC 2.1, which blocks screen sleep when showing a video and system sleep (with the screen asleep) when playing audio-only media (ticket #6589 (closed))."

I have just installed VLC 2.1.3, excited that I would not have to get up every 20 minutes to awaken my system, but alas, the screen did go into sleep when I was playing a 25 minute audio file on my computer. This is also a nuisance when I'm listening to radio shows on the computer.

I'm on Win 8, on an HP Envy machine where the screen is the computer.
