Tell VLC to pause the track list if an error on file

Hi,

Frequently I open an link in VLC, but sometimes VLC can’t open the link. He then shows an error

If VLC is configured to read the tracklist in a loop, then there is a loop in the errors too, and VLC starts reporting a huge amount of errors.

This monopolizes my CPU and freezes VLC if not the computer.

Maybe you could just compare the reported errors. If 1 file in queue: watch if the new error matches the last one. If match: break the loop. If 2 files in queue: the 2 last errors need to be compared (maybe only one file in the two is problematic, but the other file is just good, no need to stop for that).

Another solution would be to remove an error-generating file from the tracklist, and if the track list is empty, VLC stops playing.

Thanks,

Timo.
