VLC 2.1.2 and DVDs on Mavericks OS X 10.9

VLC 2.1.2 has a new bug where commercial DVDs refuse to run. Instead, I get a Yield warning icon on the playlist, and the DVD does nothing--it won't even try to load in a window. I did not experience this problem on v2.1.0, nor on 2.0.7 (which I am running instead, since it supports some .mpg files that break under 2.1.0 and 2.1.2
