VLC cannot see DVD in Win8x64

Playback failure: DVDRead could not open the disc "D:". Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd:///D:'. Check the log for details.

Windows 8 Enterprise 64-bit CPU AMD G-T56N, 1.65 GHz, Dual Core 4 GB RAM Player: Buffalo HL-ST BD-RE BH10NS30, USB ext powered

I have no clue where the log is, or how to retrieve it.
