Version 2.1.1 UPnP Crashing VLC

In version 2.1.0 I was able to access my audio files via UPnP.
Once I upgraded to 2.1.1 every time I try to access UPnP, I get the message "VLC Media Player 2.1.1 has stopped working."
Sometimes I will get an option to send in a report to the developers and it makes mention of an FTP problem. My PC is an HP Laptop running Windows 8.1 but I have also loaded VLC on another HP Laptop running Windows 7 and an Lenovo desktop running Windows 7 with the same results.
