For disabling automatic VR mode when playing 360 videos.
Problem to solve
Hi, can we disable the feature which automatically loads the 360 content in VR mode? According to some posts in VLC forum (ex. https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=136568&p=450720&hilit=disable+360#p450720, https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=145322&p=476152&hilit=disable+360#p476152), it seems that the VLC does not support this function or API and I wonder why.
Intended users
Most users of VR are supposed to watch the video content in spherical or hemispherical screen meshes. It's pretty important to get the exact 2D equirectangular video frames so that we can and provide immersive experience.
Proposal
I believe this is also a great opportunity for VLC to enter the fast-growing XR market. Without this feature, developers just can't use VLC in 360 video playing at all. This will be a big loss for the VLC community. We're also happy to cover the fees for adding this new feature if it requires too much workload.
