I'm not sure if this impacts other playback methods (e.g., streaming over SMB), but I assume it does because the `savePlaybackState` method in `Sources/VLCPlaybackService.h` is guarded by `#if TARGET_OS_IOS`.4.0.0Eshan Singheeeshan789@gmail.comEshan Singheeeshan789@gmail.comhttps://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc-ios/-/issues/1086tvOS: Add aspect-ratio and crop adjustment to playback menu2021-09-26T08:56:58ZmacintologisttvOS: Add aspect-ratio and crop adjustment to playback menuDuring playback of a file, there is a menu on the top where you can select subtitles and audio tracks. When I pause the video or skip back to read something on the screen (presentation slides for instance) the lower area of the screen is blurred out for the navigation bar. Please make this blurring optional or remove it entirely. For that matter you might remove the filename above the nav bar also, to make the whole UI more in line with the default Apple TV video navigation UI.https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc-ios/-/issues/886Request for HTTP Server for the Apple TV2020-11-27T21:05:29ZPouya KaryRequest for HTTP Server for the Apple TVHi! I use the VLC on the Apple TV to play my movies and I have always wanted to automate the process of playing a URL into the TV. So I wanted to have a shortcut that opens and plays a URL into the Apple TV without manually doing it.
As I read your codes you have a WebSocket connection between the Remote Playback website that you locally provide to control the TV and the TV app. And the simple "openURL" command lets you play what you want, which is possible in iOS but within Pythonista and with a lot of hacks to get WebSocket working there:
![IMG_C1D3659F4E6A-1](/uploads/4038d8643a44fdf7436aaa3d058b27f8/IMG_C1D3659F4E6A-1.jpeg)
But I think there are a few problems with this, one is that the web socket protocol was made to make the remote possible. And the other problem is that iOS's shortcuts has no support for the WebSockets. Also the extensions you can use to shortcuts like JSBox and Scriptable don't come with WebSockets support.
But if there could be a URL parameter, one could only use the plain shortcuts and pass the movie title they wanted to it and have it play or pause
```
http://living-room.local/?openURL=...
http://living-room.local/?pause
...
```
And this could be really cool because then you could use the shortcuts to automate VLC, and then these shortcuts could be shared and also could be used over Siri.
If you don't have the time for it, I can implement it myself but you just have to give me some hints, where to put the server code and how to call the `openURL` in your codebase.

Currently the touchpad area of the Siri remote (or the virtual one on an iPhone in my case), only allows:
- play/pause with a tap
- seeking without a lot of precision when paused and scrolling left/right
There are a number of gestures that would be very useful:
- seeking when playing/scrubbing (either through double/triple/etc.-taps like YouTube, or the distance swiped left/right)
- precision scrubbing when paused (the speed at which the finger is dragged dictates the precision used for seeking, slow movement moves by small amounts, the builtin iOS seek bar for the video widget implements that)
- dedicated seek area, with amounts of seeking being dependent on the length of the media (Image from https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/tv/atvb701cadc1/tvos: [image](/uploads/5a7a2e4a3e1876055cfa4c62ad92c05d/image.png))https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc-ios/-/issues/1386Impossible to seek back on tvOS with Free remote2024-01-21T11:59:43ZhadessImpossible to seek back on tvOS with Free remoteVLC 3.3.7 (432) on an Apple TV 4K

Using a Free remote, navigation is very very difficult if one attempts to seek forwards, and it's impossible to seek backwards.
There was a special Apple TV bundle available for Free ISP customers with an Apple TV 4K, but as a cost-cutting measure, the Siri remote was replaced by a cheaper Bluetooth and IR Free-branded remote. I got one of those bundles.
Original Apple TV remotes of different generations and the Free one on the left:
![image](/uploads/7031795c95bbb6047e1585c05babc005/image.png)
When using the Free remote:
- the right handside of the ring d-pad and the ⏩ button will forward slightly faster, and pressing more times will accelerate the fast-forward speed. The only way to play at normal speed is to use the play/pause button to pause playback, and make it play again
- the left handside of the ring d-pad and the ⏪ button don't seem to do anything (they don't cancel fast-forward, they don't seek back)
As a work-around, I tried using the Apple TV remote on an iPhone, but the -10/+10 seconds buttons don't appear. There doesn't seem to be a way to seek using the touch area.

I would be happy to buy a second-hand remote for the developer that needs one to test this functionality. They're quite easily available on "Le Bon Coin" in the 20€-40€ range.4.0.0Felix Paul Kühnefkuehne@videolan.orgFelix Paul Kühnefkuehne@videolan.orghttps://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc-ios/-/issues/1372Remote Playback failing on Apple TV with Windows 11 PC2022-06-27T10:01:23ZBruce WangRemote Playback failing on Apple TV with Windows 11 PCHi, I've used VLC on my Apple TV for many years. Currently on the VLC app on Apple TV, Remote Playback looks to be enabled. But when I navigate to the local URL on my PC, the page doesn't load and I see a "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN" error.
I've tried flusing the DNS, restarted the DNS services on my PC, proofread the URLs, reset my Apple TV, restarted my computer and TV, checked my etc/hosts file, and tried Microsoft Edge and Chrome. Nothing fixed the error.
