Passcode leads to a black screen when opening a video from a third party app in VLC
The issue in question is that (at least that I’ve seen) when you have passcode enabled on VLC Media Player, if you attempt to download and open a video with the app on any other app, VLC Media Player will instantly open up to a black screen. If you leave the app then the passcode prompt will appear after opening it again. If you type the password in, it will just return to that black screen.
Only upon fully closing the app (removing it from running in the background) or restarting it (holding the power button until you see the shutdown prompt and then holding the home button) you will be able to type in your password and enter the app. This has never been a problem for me without passcode lock enabled, so I’m fairly certain it is because of the passcode feature or how it attempts to open with the passcode feature enabled.
This is a mere inconvenience, but it is still frustrating nonetheless. I have a fairly new iPhone 8+ and I see no reason why it would be a phone issue rather than the application’s. If you require further details or breakdowns, please query me on them. Thank you for looking into my problem.
