Failure to re-detect Chromecast upon reopening the app on iPhone

1. I download and install VLC from the AppStore. Upon first launch I grant the rights to detect all devices on local network
2. I select a video to watch from my local dlna server and start playback.
3. I tap the cast icon. I select my chromecast and it works fine.
4. I finish the viewing and quit the app.
5. Later on, I reopen the app and start playing another video from my local dlna server
6. I tap the cast icon. My chromecast does no longer appear as available and therefore I cannot select it.
7. I delete the app from my iPhone.
8. Go to step 1.

It's an endless loop.

VLC version 3.6.4. iOs 17.7. iPhone type XR and 13 PRO both exhibit the same symptoms
