Disabled "Automatically Play Next Item" not working anymore

Different symptoms:

"Automatically play next item" is disabled but the audio files in a playlist automatically play the next item.
Sometimes the same item in the playlist plays several times in a row.
the application has crashed at least once. I would say that it is related to the latest update 2 days ago (I can confirm it worked fine 2 weeks ago).

device: iPhone SE 2020

VLC version: 3.4.4

iOS version: 16.5
