spatial audio support missing in macOS client

Please forgive me if this is not the correct place to post this, it seemed to be after looking over the Wiki. Using the latest VLC release for macOS (3.0.17.3) I see that for AirPods Max spatial audio is not available when using VLC playback, the option is greyed out in the AirPods bluetooth menu item. However I do see that spatial audio is supported in the VLC iOS client. Is this coming for macOS? Thanks - I love VLC, it's indispensable.
