iPadOS app doesn’t let me choose and download subtitles. VLC for iOS 3.3.0 (418).

VLC for iOS 3.3.0 (418). On iPad Pro. iPadOS 15.4

Steps to reproduce:

. click on ‘download subtitles from open subtitles.org’ . I’m presented with a list of subtitles, so far so good . I select subtitles in the list . Short burst of the processing wheel indicator . The list closes, but nothing happens. No subtitles are downloaded

Additionally, . If I wait too long to choose subtitles when I’m presented with the list, the list disappears with the message ‘no subtitles found for your media item nameofthevideo’

It’s a fresh install of VLC for IPadOS, brand new version. I’ve been using VLC for many years and the problem seems related to the new version. iPadOS is up to date too
