Media stops playing when running in background

I have iOS 11 As well as updating VLC. No I noticed that my media files will randomly stop playing, When running in background. I have background playback enabled, in settings. Maybe there’s A simple solution I overlooked. But I figured it I should let you know in case it is a bug. Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks Have a great day!
