When resuming audio filenames starting with "#", VLC forgets playback location and resumes from start
After pausing an audio file that has a leading '#' in the filename in VLC, VLC has trouble restoring the playback position to the proper location and restarts the audio from the beginning of the file. This seems to happen when VLC is left in the background for a while or is closed by swiping the VLC window up from the "recent applications" switcher in Android.
Description
VLC will sometimes "forget" the playback position of a audio file opened within VLC and when asked to resume, VLC will start the audio file from the beginning.
Expected behavior
I would expect VLC to remember the current audio position of the open file even if VLC is put in some kind of sleep state or removed from Android memory
Actual behavior
With some files in certain circumstances, VLC will restart the audio file from the beginning when asked to resume.
Steps to reproduce
- Open VLC and navigate to an audio file that has a "#" as the first character of the filename (may be other patterns as well; not sure) on your Android device within the directory browser.
- Allow the audio file to play for a while or seek to somewhere in the middle of the file within the main VLC activity screen.
- Press pause on the main VLC activity screen.
- In order to force Android to "clear" VLC from memory (not sure of the technical android term), press the SQUARE device button and swipe the VLC window up
- Confirm that the VLC window is removed from the recent activities list AND confirm that the VLC notification with controls is available in the notification area. 6a. Press play on the VLC notification area controls
