Increased playback speed with time-stretching disabled gives completly distorted audio

Please check my latest comment, before reading the issue description. In short: Time-stretching is now forced on even if disabled in settings

With Time-stretching audio disabled and attempting to play a song at 1,5x normal speed leaves the audio completely distorted and "robotic".

Expected behavior

That it works like on desktop.

Actual behavior

That it works like cancer in my ears.

Steps to reproduce

1. Disable time-stretching audio
2. Speed up any song
3. Madness ensures.

Context

App version

3.1.7 downloaded directly from the Google Play Store.
