Last played playlist/stream is never forgotten and bizarrely loads up on random unexpected occasions
This is a bizarre behaviour that started after updating to version 3.0.93. Steps to reproduce:
- In the settings, ensure
Playback history
option is unchecked. - Play a M3U [video] playlist.
- Optional: Quit and restart application.
- Optional: Play any individual [video] file(s).
- Optional: Quit and restart application.
- Open
Settings
. - The last played M3U playlist automatically loads up. Also, there is no way to dismiss the notification without playing the loaded playlist.
- Optional: Quit and restart application.
- Rename, move or delete the M3U file from original location.
- Optional: Use android's app manager to clear VLC's application cache.
- Open
Settings
. - The now non-existent M3U file still tries to load but fails and VLC shows a toast message that the file cannot be played.
- Rename, move or restore the original M3U file. Or, play another M3U file.
- Start from step 3 to observe the same behaviour again. Once a playlist file is opened, there's absolutely no going back and VLC will make sure to load/play it every single time the settings are accessed.
Firstly, the playlist history should not be remembered unless the relevant option is specifically selected. Secondly, no file/playlist should be loaded on simply accessing the Settings
section.
Edit: The playlist loads not only on accessing Settings
but after playing and closing any network stream as well. This problem of playlist getting loaded happened on at least one other occasion too but unfortunately I can't reproduce that.
Edit 2: This problem is not just restricted to [M3U] playlists. In the steps to reproduce above, replace M3U file with any network stream and the same behaviour can be observed.
