Toggling "Verbose" logging in Advanced preferences stops playback and breaks the play button

STR:

1. Play some music
2. Go into Preferences > Advanced
3. In the Developer section at the end either check or uncheck "Verbose"
4. Playback will cease, play button will not resume (⏵ state), time displays -0:00. The home widget and the notification play button are both in ⏸ state and don't work either.

Play can be resumed by changing tracks
