VLC Android crashes immediately when casting video to Chromecast Ultra

Description

VLC Android v.3.5.7 crashes immediately when attempting to cast a video (numerous formats tried) to Chromecast Ultra (latest firmware). Whilst VLC crashes, it does play a little of the video (5-15 seconds) and audio on the Chromecast, presumably the small amount that has been buffered as some videos will play slightly longer than others. Audio with no video plays fine. The video plays fine on the android device when not casting.

Expected behavior

VLC should not crash when casting video.

Actual behavior

VLC immediately crashes when trying to cast video.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open VLC on android device
2. Select the cast button and the Chromecast device
3. Select and play a local video
