Android implementation of picture-in-picture / pop-up player is not compatible with gesture-based navigation

Android 14, Pixel 8 Pro

Steps:

1. Play a video in VLC
2. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to show the Android home screen

Expected:

• VLC enters picture in picture mode / pop-up player

Actual:

• VLC app is backgrounded and does not engage the pop-up player
