Play and Pause button icons are inverted, in audio files only

Description
Expected behavior
I would expect this button to display an animation between its two states (play & pause), and display the action it lets the user do, rather than the playback status.
Actual behavior
Since a few version, the play/pause button in VLC displays the playback status rather than the action it does if pressed, and does not display any transition animation.
Steps to reproduce
- Play any audio track in VLC — the bug does not happen when playing a video.
- Observe the play-pause button appearance and see it’s the wrong one.
- Pressing the button, seeing it’s never the correct one.

Additional note
This bug does not seem to happen on every devices :
- a friend of mine does not encounter this problem (his device is running a pretty recent Android version, but I cannot have more information about it),
- these two bugs do not happen on a Xiaomi Mi A3 (2019) with Android 10 and same (F-Droid latest) VLC version.
