Immediate crash on opening when wifi-connected

Description

When connected to a Wifi network, VLC crashes immediately after opening. It works normally when only on cellular data. The local network does have a SMB share, but that seems to be working properly, and VLC still crashes if I remove that share from the library to scan in VLC. Reading the other related bugs in the database, I'm not sure they describe what I'm seeing.

This bug appeared within the past few weeks -- it used to work correctly.

Expected behavior

VLC should start up and present its normal UI.

Actual behavior

VLC UI appears for less than 0.5 seconds, then immediately vanishes with no other messages of any kind. This can be repeated over and over.

Steps to reproduce

1. Be connected to a local network on Wifi
2. Start VLC
